About the Lebanese Association for History

LAH is a non-governmental organization founded in 2013 by a group of educationalists, history teachers, and activists who work together to contribute to the development of disciplinary approaches to History education in Lebanon. LAH’s mission is to promote the learning and teaching of history as a discipline in Lebanon, raise public awareness about the importance of history and ensure that history teaching becomes more recognized by society and more engaging to learners with a focus on historical concepts.


LAH aims at encouraging continuous learning for different age groups as a way to build learners’ critical thinking shape their personalities and develop a sense of individual and collective responsibility. Accordingly, LAH is working on developing a digital platform for history education sources accessible to all teachers in Lebanon and the Arab world. Additionally, the association will be conducting workshops sliming at developing teachers’ capacity to research and develop educational sources related to history.  LAH is also involved in partnerships and projects working towards the development of a variety of digital platforms contributing to the sector.


LAH is currently seeking a Project Coordinator who is responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of LAH projects that aims at developing history education in Lebanon.


Work Description


Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the implementation of all aspects of the projects assigned, including but not limited to defining project tasks and resource requirements, manage timelines and project resources.
  • Organizing workshops relating to the projects under her / his responsibility, across different regions in Lebanon.
  • Overseeing the design and publication of the projects’ products.
  • Organizing conferences and seminars related to the projects.
  • Coordinating between the different stakeholders involved in the project, and ensuring work quality from all actors.
  • Providing direction and support to the projects’ teams, and maintaining constructive communication among them.
  • Ensuring the implementation of the M&E framework, accumulating information from the project team for monitoring purposes, compiling reports, and communicating progress to all involved stakeholders.
  • Overseeing logistical support for all project phases including but not limited to booking of venues, hotels, compiling materials, and communication with participants.
  • Managing project(s) Budgets and ensure proper management of financial resources.
  • Organizing and reporting on meetings.
  • Providing additional support as needed by the team.


The Project Coordinator is expected to work closely with the LAH’s team and reports directly to the Executive Manager.


Essential / Desirable:


A Bachelor degree – Preferable: A Master’s degree in: Social sciences and Humanities, Education, Economics,  Business administration.



Experience / proficiency

  • At least with 3 years’ experience in project coordination working in local NGOs and INGOs.
  • Experienced in Managing project budgets and financial record keeping.
  • Organizational skills with attention to details and high professionalism
  • Dynamic attitude, multitasking skills and team player skills
  • Time management with the ability to work under pressure
  • Strong networking skills
  • Experience in organizing workshops, conferences and community events.
  • Preferable to have  Experience in working in educational settings
  • Preferable to have Knowledge in the field of history education or teaching and learning in general


  • Excellent command of English and Arabic (oral and writing)
  • French is an asset
